 "The Great Gator Wall"  (2007)

This summer we worked on a mosaic mural project in
collaboration with the children attending the summer recreation
program at Gansevoort Elementary School. This project
was
sponsored by RCSD Safe Schools/Healthy Students, Rome
Weed & Seed, and Turner Glass Art.

The mosaic mural features Gansevoort’s mascot –

the Gator! The mosaic was created using small ceramic tiles,
     hand
made by the children. It also includes small trinkets and
found objects brought in by the children.

The mural was unveiled at a special school assembly held on

September 14.
