Ever since I was a child I have  been fascinated by colored glassI

It had been a lifelong dream to learn the art of stained glass and at the age of
37,  I finally got my chance. I have been  working as a glass artisan
ever since!

I started out just making stained glass gifts for family and friends. Then I began
selling my work to my  co-workers. The next step was selling on the internet
through online auctions, and
eventually creating my own website.

In  2004 we relocated to Central New York and I decided to devote myself to
building my business. Since then I have taken it all the way from a part-time
hobby to  my own studio/gallery space. I have also expanded my work to include
mosaics and handmade ceramics tiles.

Although I work with stained glass, ceramics and mosaics, I
especially enjoy
mosaic art. It just feels like therapy to me! I am now concentrating on
incorporating my own handmade tiles and ceramic pieces into my artwork. I have
experience in layout, setting, grouting and finishing and expertise using a wide
range of materials including ceramic tile, handmade tile, vitreous and stained
glass, mirror, and mixed medias. I have strong skills in  project design and
instruction.

Because of my background working with children I especially enjoy teaching.
Over the past year I have had the opportunity to work as  a
Teaching Artist,
part of a art infusion grant received from the Central New York Community Arts
Council, Inc. (funded by NYSCA).

Another exciting project I am working on is the development of an art program for
at-risk youth in conjunction with the local school system. As part of this program
students along with community members are working on a
community art
project for the downtown Rome.
